It is Hump Day! Hope everyone's week is going well. Not much to report other than things are moving along. Everyone loves Terry's new haircut so I guess he may keep it this short. It is more modern than his long 1980's style! He is still not driving and is getting a bit frustrated with me carting him around. I can tell he is much like his old self because he never, never lets me drive and when I do drive, he is a nervous wreck and tells me everything I did wrong! I am a good driver, just a little faster than he! So -- things are getting back to normal - Physical therapy is getting more strenuous. He is tired when he is done that is for sure. His balance on the left side is still weak but in time that will come. He seems to have lost his hearing his left ear but perhaps in time that will come back. I sure hope so because the TV's sound is up so loud I need to wear ear plugs so now it is a battle of what volume we have on -- So you can tell we are definitely getting back to normal with this little controversies! LOL! Brooke is coming to visit for Father's Day and Terry so it will be a good weekend and she will be pleased to see his progress. That is all the news to report for now --

What a successful week this has been for Terry. It is unbelieveable the progress he has made since last Friday. He is so much like himself. He is working a bit and trying not to over do it but the phone keeps ringing. He has increased his walking, his balance is better - everything is better. His eye looks great and bruising disappaearing. On May 11th - just one month ago we got the horrible diagnosis and look at him now -- how wonderful is that? Tomorrow he goes in for an official haircut as he has a little buzz growing on the top so guess we are going to give him a crew cut all around -- Wow -- I have only seen pictures of him in that look from 8th grade -- ought to be interesting but think it will look better than the mullet he has going on now! LOL! We are looking forward to a good weekend. Brooke is coming into town so we will enjoy that very much. Thanks again to all my dear friends for your support!! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

I have not entered anything in a few days as life is pretty much the same. Which is such a good thing -- I can honestly say I love boring right now. I had enough drama this last month for a a lifetime. Terry acts and sounds like himself more each day. Sunday we were very busy with more company and he didn't seem to get as tired. Monday was physical therapy again and today he actually had an appointment with a client and it went well. He worked about 3-4 hours today but had to call it quits as he was getting very tired but I am glad he hasn't tried to push it. I will have to watch him a little on the work as with being a month behind, I can tell he is getting anxious to get things done but it will come together. Three weeks today was his surgery so I think he is doing great. We do need to get some sort of new haircut though -- his hair in front is growing back rapidly so he has a crew cut going on - on the top of his head and his same old hair on the back -- makes it quite the hairstyle to say the least!! Definitely need to consider a new look! LOL! Hope everyone is having a Happy Tuesday!

Another good day! Terry up most of the morning and even called a couple clients. He got on computer and checked his emails -- this was the first time since this all began -- he is always addicted to email and the computer and did not have any interest up until today to check out his emails on his own so big sign. Had a lot of company this evening, he is tired but hung in there. More food and cupcakes arrived today -- so very spoiled both of us -- we haven't had such wonderful goodies in the house for a very long time! Yum! Actually, as I type this, Terry is still up and watching tv -- but he is getting restless and tired of sleeping -- Yes, a little tired of sleeping -- which is shocking as he has a tendency to love to sleep but after three straight weeks in bed -- sleeping is getting boring! Ha!

I also had a great day -- had my hair cut and went with good friend, Sherrie shopping at Harwin -- even spent a little money or should I say too much money. Friends Becky, Ken, Chuck and Twyla and neighbor Donna all visited so a very full day!

Goodbye for now --

It's Friday, the start of a weekend Wow - What a difference 24 hours can make! Terry suffered so much yesterday with the headaches and wasn't feeling very chipper this morning either. He had physical therapy so took the opportunity to call the Doc's nurse and discuss pain management and they switched his pain medication. He is actually still up watching tv and it is almost 11:00 p.m.! He is alert and feels so much better. I was getting so worried because he didn't seem to be getting any better but worse the last couple of days -- but perhaps now he is again on the upward swing. The big highlight of today is Terry and I went out for dinner to a restaurant! I picked him up from physical therapy and he was starving -- we went to a little Chinese place we like downtown. It was good for both of us. Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend.

Not such a great day for Terry today but we think he was tired from yesterday and the work out. He did his exercises but could not do all the walking because it rained. Physical therapy is tomorrow again so guess he will work twice as hard then. There is going to be some days that are better than others. I heard some very sad news tonight about someone I just met a few weeks ago -- a very nice person and today he had a heart attack and died. Another example of how life can turn on a dime. And -- it made me realize once again how very lucky Terry is with his diagnosis and he is on his way to recovery. That's it for tonight -- will have more to report tomorrow after PT!

Physical Therapy Begins

I took Terry for his physical therapy evaluation today. He will go there three times a week for the next four weeks. They are going to work him hard. He also has exercises he must do every day at home two to three times a day. Walking at least three times a day for 6 to 8 minutes each time. If he does not do this, the physical therapy will be very hard on him. They were pretty stern. Muscle wise he is very strong but it is his balance and breathing that they are going to work on. Keep those prayers coming because exercise has never been one of Terry's favorite things to do -- and he won't get stronger unless he keeps moving. Have a good evening everyone.
